The scrapers create razor-thin shavings & produce a fine smooth finish when used, & the round burnisher is great for creating well formed hooks, also know as burrs, on the cabinet scrapers.   About sharpening your cabinet scraper
    
     The key to a great cabinet scraper is in the burnishing, or the sharpening of the tool. A common method to achieve this is to first file the top of the cabinet scraper for a flat top edge, generally with a metal file or stone, then use a burnisher tool to create a nice barely-visible hook burr along the edges of the cabinet scraper. This is will provide you with a great & superior shaving tool.
